The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Region 6 conducted a Tree Planting Activity for NEDA-VI, RDC-VI and RGIN-IH Personnel at Brgy. Pitogo, San Joaquin, Iloilo on August 26, 2022 in coordination with the Iloilo Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO-Iloilo). This activity was participated by thirty-seven (37) NEDA-VI, RDC-VI and RGIN-IH personnel led by NRO-VI OIC-ARD Cynthia C. Lumampao, five Barangay Kagawads of Brgy. Pitogo and two staffs from PENRO Iloilo and CENRO-Guimbal. The employees planted 150 cacao seedlings in the forest area of Brgy. Pitogo, San Joaquin, Iloilo.
This activity aims to pursue a youth-led activity of which the Tree Planting Activity is among the identified activities of the office to increase awareness on the different environmental issues and concerns and to diminish the unfavorable effects of climate change.
DRD Chief, Ms. Yvette G. Batacandolo, in her welcome message discussed the importance of planting trees and that the best time to plant trees is now, while PDIPBD Chief, Engr. Alexander O. Aquio, highlighted the acronyms for TREE-Taking Responsibility for Earth’s Environment and Teaming up for the Restoration of the Ecosphere and its Ecosystems.
NEDA Region VI recognized the efforts of the people who helped and made this activity a success and awarded the Certificate of Appreciation to Brgy. Kagawads of Pitogo and to the two staffs from PENRO-Iloilo and CENRO-Guimbal for their assistance and active participation in the said activity(MFSFagtanan/NEDA6).
