Subject-matter specialists from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund), and Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) presented their respective office’s current policies, services, and retirement packages to the NEDA Regional Office (NRO) VI employees during the Orientation-Briefing held on October 4, 2023.

The said activity is in pursuit of the NRO6’s commitment to improve the delivery of essential human resource services to its employees that includes apprising everyone on the recent administrative policies, issuances, memoranda, and circulars of the partner agencies. Further, the activity aims to educate the staff on social insurance benefits that they and their families can access in case of emergencies, as well as acquaint them on available retirement options that are available for the staff to secure their future when they retire from service.

Mr. Washington A. Ferraris and Ms. Anarie Mil L. Jaleco, from the GSIS, highlighted the differences and benefits of the two life insurances offered by the agency. They also talked about the new Multi-Purpose Loan (MPL) Flex as well as promoted the migration to the GSIS Touch mobile application. Mr. Feraris and Ms. Jaleco also discussed the different retirement laws and packages that an employee can enjoy when they retire from service.

Similarly, the resource persons from Pag-IBIG focused their talk on the different benefits and services they offer to its members. Mr. Mark Ken C. Carmelita and Ms. Xandra C. Andreo campaigned for the virtual Pag-IBIG mobile application – where the members can access information on their savings and process loan applications online. Mr. Carmelita likewise highlighted the importance of saving for the future and encouraged newly-hired employees to “top up” their regular Pag-IBIG savings or open a Modified Pag-IBIG 2 Savings (MP2) account.

The last to present was Mr. Dex Jesson T. Belleza of PhilHealth. Mr. Belleza oriented the staff on the Universal Health Care Act (RA No. 11223), its scope, coverage, and accredited partner-hospitals throughout the region. He also encouraged the NEDAns to visit the PhilHealth website and create an account under the PhilHealth Member Portal so that they can access and download their respective Member Data Record (MDR).

The open forum that followed the Orientation-Briefing was a productive and engaging opportunity for the employees to ask questions and get answers from the subject matter specialists. Majority of the questions asked were related to loan access, correction of personal data and specific inquiries on retirement packages.  (HRU/FAD)
