Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto M. Pernia and NEDA Officials who were delegates of the 3rd ASEAN-OECD Good Regulatory Practice Network (GRPN) Meeting hosted by NEDA, took time to visit the NEDA Regional Office VI for a brief staff get-together and blessing of the newly-constructed dormitory last March 14, 2017.

The NEDA Officials included USec. Adoracion M. Navarro of the Regional Development Office, USec. Rolando G. Tungpalan of the National Development Office-Investment Programming, USec. Jose Miguel R. De La Rosa of the Central Support Office, Director Roderick M. Planta of the Infrastructure Staff, Director Brenda Joyce R. Mendosa of the Trade, Services and Industry Staff, and OIC-Director Remedios S. Endencia of the Regional Development Staff.

The highlight of the event was the short talk of Secretary Pernia expressing his appreciation and gratitude to the NEDA-VI Staff led by RD Ro-Ann A. Bacal for their hospitality and achievements.  He emphasized that every NEDAn should continue to adhere to the NEDA’s core values on integrity, competence and excellence.

USec. Navarro also gave a short talk and pointed out the good practices of NEDA-VI which she learned during her previous visit and made mention that it has become her benchmark  for other NEDA Regional Offices.  USec. De La Rosa mentioned about upcoming changes in the Central Support Office under his turf while acknowledging his roots from Western Visayas.

A brief open forum on office concerns was conducted most especially interests on the proposed right-sizing of government employees and the status of the Negros Island Region. (DRD/NEDA 6)
