The Regional Development Council (RDC) VI, through the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Region VI, and the Iloilo Science and Technology University’s (ISAT-U) College of Engineering and Architecture forged a partnership to build the three-dimensional (3D) map of Western Visayas.

RDC-VI Vice-Chairperson and NEDA-VI OIC Regional Director Arecio A. Casing, Jr. and ISAT-U President Raul F. Muyong signed the memorandum of agreement  on July 28, 2022 to formalize the partnership.

The 3D map will be a vital tool in regional and local planning, project development and project monitoring and evaluation. Once completed, it will be installed in the lobby of the NEDA-VI Office.

RD Casing shared that the NEDA-VI is strengthening its foundation in the areas of knowledge management, data science, innovation and digital transformation to help decision-makers and stakeholders in fast-tracking the needed reforms and effectively address regional and local concerns.

This year, NEDA VI has started the digitization of its services through the electronic Regional Project Monitoring and Evaluation System (e-RPMES) and Regional Geographic Information Network Innovation Hub (RGIN-IH).

The partnership of the RDC/NEDA VI and ISAT-U supports the call for further collaboration between state universities and colleges and regional line agencies and streamline  the region’s resources and expertise for a better Western Visayas. (MLLetrero/NEDA VI)
