The RDC/NEDA-VI and Climate Change Commission (CCC) joined forces to orient stakeholders in Region VI on how to access the People’s Survival Fund (PSF) – a fund that supports programs and projects that institutes adaptation measures that ultimately enhances the resiliency of communities, municipalities, and provinces.  A total of 206 LGUs, public and private universities, NGOs, and line agencies were represented in the Learn-Write-Workshop in Accessing the PSF and Project ReBuild last September 13-15, 2017 at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, Iloilo City.  There were 40 participants from Negros Occidental, the newly reintegrated province to Region VI.  The CCC brought a team of technical experts from Manila to enlighten participants on various aspects of science-based climate and disaster vulnerability assessment methodologies.

RD Ro-Ann A. Bacal welcomed all partners and guests to the big event. She encouraged the LGUs to propose meaningful and high-impact adaptation measures towards helping households and communities overcome their vulnerabilities and become climate smart.

The NRO Project Development, Investment Programming and Budget Division backstopped the 3-day activity which was a result of a proposal they initiated in 2016 in response to the challenge presented by ADG Mercedita Sombilla for NROs to assist the CCC in making PSF more accessible to the LGUs.
