Members of the Regional Development Council VI (RDC-VI) gathered at Guimaras Mountain Resort in Buenavista, Guimaras to prepare the RDC-VI Workprogram for 2017-2019.  The said document is intended to guide the Council and its sector committees on their meeting agenda that will tackle development issues and challenges identified and prioritized in the Regional Development Plan.

The workshops generated major activities and events to be undertaken by the social, economic, infrastructure, and development administration sector committees and that of the five special committees for 2017 until the first half of 2019. Aside from the regular committee meetings, capability building activities were identify to further capacitate the RDC members.  Activities that will strengthen private sector involvement in the RDC and the various committees were, likewise, identified.

All these were eventually confirmed by the Council during its 1st quarter meeting last March 30, 2017 which will now guide NEDA-VI in preparing subsequent RDC-VI budget proposals to support the identified activities and events.

More than anything, the activity was an opportunity for the members to strengthen relationships, promote camaraderie, and appreciate each other’s unique contribution to the development processes, as well as, to strengthen the RDC-VI as a development institution characterized by strong committed ties from the government and private sectors.  The team building exercises were facilitated by Mr. Ernesto O. Cecilia of the EC Business Solutions and Career Center and a resource person of the Career Executive Service Board. (NEDA/DRD)
