Through the outstanding initiatives and exemplary commitment in the implementation of energy efficiency and conservation within the office, the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office VI is recognized by the Department of Energy (DOE) as one of the Energy Efficiency Excellence (EEE) Awardees in the National Government Agencies (NGAs) Category.  NEDA VI is among the three awardees among the national government agencies that bags the award. The EEE Awards 2022 Awarding Ceremony was conducted on December 22, 2022 at the Marquis Events Place at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

NEDA VI OIC- Regional Director Arecio A. Casing, Jr. expressed his gratitude in his acceptance speech through a video presentation sent to DOE, “We at NEDA Region VI is extremely honored to be one of the awardees under the NGAs Category of EEE Awards. Thank you to the Department of Energy for recognizing our initiatives and exemplary commitment in the implementation of energy efficiency and conservation within our office. We are earnestly grateful for this recognition you have given us, and we will continue to adhere to our office policies and programs on austerity measures and energy conservation plan.”

Back in March 2, 2022, the NRO VI also received a 5-star rating and a score of 97.4 percent during the conduct of Energy Audit by the DOE. NRO VI has sustained its best practices which led to becoming an EEE Awardee. The NRO VI has also proven its continuous promotion of exemplary energy management and implementation of energy conservation program within the office through the initiative of OIC-ARD Arecio A. Casing, Jr. as the EEC Focal Person together with the NRO VI Energy Conservation Team which is chaired by Ms. Ingrid D. Magno, OIC-Chief Administrative Officer, and its members composed of Engr. Lalaine D. Hosillos, Ms. Mary Ann L. Brotarlo, Mr. Ian Brylle P. Billiones, Mr. Dangelo E. Bagoyo, and Ms. Shara Jean T. Cuaterno. The team is tasked to comply with all the necessary requirements intended for strengthening the office measures relative to the conservation and management of energy.

As an EEE Awardee, this means that NEDA VI has adopted the Government Energy Management ProgramOnline System for monitoring and reporting of consumption, established office issuances relative to the energy efficiency and conservation, implemented best practices for electricity and fuel consumption, established requirements such as Energy Committee, appointed officers and focal, and accomplished all other reports such as consumption and inventories.
