The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office VI is now a Safety Seal government establishment. This means that the office is compliant with the minimum public health standards to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. NEDA VI is the first government agency in Western Visayas to receive a Safety Seal certification outside of the regional agencies in-charge of evaluating government agencies, which are the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
NEDA VI OIC-Regional Director Meylene C. Rosales received the Safety Seal certificate on February 16, 2022 from DILG VI Safety Seal Assessment Officer, Christian M. Nagaynay, also the OIC-Division Chief Local Government Capacity Development Division (LGCDD), and Medel M. Espinosa, Local Government Operations Officer (LGOO).
The inspection and validation were conducted via Zoom last February 4 by the Safety Seal assessors from the DILG, PNP and BFP in the region. All the requirements and standards being required based on safety seal certification checklist were met and complied by NEDA VI.
The said certification program, mandated by IATF Resolution No. 87, aims to increase compliance by private or public entities with the minimum public health standards and increase confidence as we safely reopen the economy. /DEBagoyo/FAD/NEDA VI
