President Rodrigo R. Duterte re-appointed Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao of the Province of Antique as Chairperson of the Regional Development Council (RDC) VI whose term will end in June 30, 2022. Governor Cadiao was recently re-elected in May 2019 under the National Unity Party.
During her previous term, the RDC-6 under her leadership passed resolutions which endorsed major development projects, including the Panay River Basin Integrated Development Project, which will soon be deliberated at the ICC and NEDA Board level. It was also during her term that the RDC VI endorsed to agency central offices, DBM and Congress the proposed annual budgets of 23 regional line agencies and eight (8) SUCs; the annual advisory committee meetings were conducted where proposed programs and projects of RLAs and SUCs were presented; and to honor the most competitive cities and municipalities in the region, the Ist Recognition Ceremony for Competitive Local Government Units was conducted, among others.
Chairperson Cadiao is supported by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office which serves as the principal technical staff and secretariat of the Council, the Executive Committee and the Advisory Committee. (NEDA-VI / RDC)
