The Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), in coordination with the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), announce the call of entries for the Volunteerism Story Contest.
This activity aims to engage the Filipino youth in the promotion of volunteerism both as a way of life and approach for socio-economic development. The contest is open to Filipino college or university students nationwide who are currently enrolled in or who have completed the National Service Training Program (NSTP) at the time of the submission of entry.
The theme of the contest is ‘Volunteering for Sustainable Development’ and each participant is expected to submit feature stories on the experiences and contributions of volunteers towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Each participant should choose one (1) SDG and write a story about an individual or organization whose volunteer work is aligned with the realization of the SDGs. One entry per student is allowed. Co-authored entries will not be accepted.
Volunteering experiences and insights discussed in the entry should come from direct or mediated communication with the individual or organization volunteer.
